Back in 2013 I was training for my first marathon and was always trying to get the best of both worlds with my nutrition. The protein from jerky and the nutrients of traditional nutrition bars. All the while keeping it portable, tasty, and easy to digest. I went as far as wrapping energy bars in jerky which, without fail, would fall apart around mile 6. Struggling to find the perfect combination of meat protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats, I ran over to my best friend Derek's office which happens to be a kitchen. Derek, a food innovator and chef, loved the idea of a meat based protein bar. That summer we teamed up and made it our mission to create the best tasting protein snacks possible using the best ingredients we could find.
